Sodium deoxycholate injections into adipose tissue to eliminate resistant fat deposits are called intralipotherapy.
HOW IS INTRALIPOTHERAPY PERFORMED?
Sodium deoxycholate is a bile salt. It can provide significant shrinkage on adipose tissue, thanks to its degrading feature of adipose tissue. Fan-shaped injections are made into the adipose tissue with a cannula or dental needle tip. We add local anesthetic to reduce the burning sensation during injection. Therefore, the injections are performed without significant pain.
HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED? HOW OFTEN IS IT DONE?
Session intervals are planned as a minimum of 1 month. After the treatment, mild redness and edema lasting about 1 week can be observed in the treated area. A slight bruise may develop in the area where the needle was inserted. Since the broken down fat is excreted through the lymphatics, methods that stimulate lymph drainage such as massage and pressotherapy can provide extra benefits. After the treatment, it is necessary to avoid excessive heat, cold, laser and radio frequency applications to the treated area. After the treatment, nodular swelling can be felt in the treated area for about 1 month, and they regress within 1 month.
WHICH AREAS IS INTRALIPOTHERAPY APPLIED?
Intralipotherapy can be applied to get rid of excess fat in the hips, abdomen, inner legs, arms, upper and sides of the knees, back, jowl and double chin area. 1-3 sessions may be required for double chin treatment and 2-6 sessions for body treatments.
WHO CANNOT HAVE INTRALIPOTHERAPY?
Intralipotherapy cannot be applied to those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, cancer patients, those receiving chemotherapy treatment, those with severe allergies and autoimmune diseases.
WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF INTRALIPOTHERAPY OVER INJECTION LIPOLYSIS?
Its most important advantages are that it has a more pronounced effect and requires less sessions compared to the method called classical injection lipolysis.
HOW BENEFIT IS INTRALIPOTHERAPY IN THE TREATMENT OF DOUBLE CHIN AND JOWL? HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED?
Successful results are obtained with intralipotherapy even in patients with very large jowls. Thanks to the injections performed with the cannula fan technique, we ensure the breakdown of the fat in the jowl area and its excretion through the lymphatics. For jowl treatment, 1-3 sessions are required at 1-month intervals.
CAN PATIENT GO BACK TO DAILY LIVES AFTER TREATMENT WITH INTRALIPOTHERAPY?
After the treatment, edema develops in the jowl area for about a week. Sometimes, small bruises may occur at the needle entry points. If the edema is hidden with a scarf, the person can return to his daily life immediately.
